Terms
Last updated September 2026. A plain-language draft describing how ONE actually works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and will be before any paid plan launches.
What ONE is
Software that helps you choose, plan, launch and run a small business in the United States. It generates plans, names, brand assets, a website and shop, supplier shortlists, campaigns and documents, and it records what happens in your business so you can see it in one place.
What ONE is not
Not a law firm, accountant, tax adviser, payroll provider, bank, insurer or payment processor. Anything ONE produces about legal, tax, employment or financial matters is general information generated from what you told it, and is a prompt to check with someone qualified rather than a substitute for doing so. The legal checklist is a list of things to find out, not a statement of what the law requires of you.
ONE does not tell you what you will earn
ONE shows projections. They are arithmetic on the figures you enter plus published benchmarks, and they are not a forecast, a guarantee or a claim about what ONE’s users earn. ONE makes no such claim and has no such data. Most new businesses earn less than their plan says. The full explanation is here, and it is worth reading before you spend money on the strength of a number ONE showed you.
Your account, and the people you add
You sign in with Google. You can invite others into a business and give them a role: owner, manager or staff. You are responsible for who you let in and for what they do with the access you gave them. A business always has at least one owner — ONE will not let the last one leave without handing it over first.
Your data is yours
You own what you put in and what your business produces. You can export all of it as a file, and delete your account, from Account settings without asking us. The privacy policy sets out what is held, who else sees it, and the narrow set of things that survive deletion.
Your customers are your responsibility
If you publish a shop, you are the merchant. You are responsible for what you sell and the claims you make about it, for sales tax, licences and product safety in your state, for fulfilling orders and handling returns, and for the personal data of the people who buy from you. If you switch on abandoned-cart recovery, those marketing emails are sent on your behalf and are yours to answer for — ONE builds them to meet US law, including the postal address and unsubscribe link it requires, and will not send them without the address.
Money
Payments run through your own Stripe account under Stripe’s terms. ONE never holds your money and is not the merchant of record. Card fees, payouts, disputes and chargebacks are between you, Stripe and your customer. Other services you connect — Shopify, Meta, shipping carriers, email — have their own terms and charges.
Fair use
Don’t use ONE to break the law, to sell what you are not allowed to sell, to send email to people who did not ask for it, or to impersonate anyone. AI features are rate limited per account so that one person cannot exhaust them for everyone. Don’t attempt to get around that, and don’t resell ONE’s AI capacity as your own.
Early access
ONE is provided as is. It will change, it may pause, and it has bugs. Nothing is charged without your explicit agreement, and you will be told before any paid plan begins. During early access, ONE’s liability to you is limited to what you have paid it, which is currently nothing — so keep your own copies of anything you would be sorry to lose, which the export exists to make easy.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend an account that is breaking these terms or putting other people at risk, and will say why where we can.
